According to a report from Freelancer.com, "data showed there was a 25 per cent increase in the number of freelancing jobs posted between the first and second quarter of 2020, rising from 482,000 to 605,000 nationally" and the same data shows “a 41 per cent jump in freelance positions compared to this time last year. The total number of jobs in this period rose 176,000 to 605,000” illustrating employers' need to hire specialists on a short-term basis (instead of staffing full-time positions) and workers' increased preference for flexible employment arrangements.
